John Schwenkler

John Schwenkler

Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy, Florida State University
view my cv
I am Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Florida State University, where thanks to a generous fellowship from the John Templeton Foundation I am also moonlighting as a graduate student in Psychology from 2018-2021. I am also the editor of the Brains blog.

My first book, titled Anscombe's Intention: A Guide, will be published next year by Oxford University Press.

My
research interests are centered around the philosophy of mind and action, but also touch on questions in ethics, epistemology, and more. I also teach and write about lots of other things beyond those research foci.

I
have five children and am, by most people's standards at least, a fairly avid runner.

Here you can learn more about:

  • My research projects in the philosophy of mind and action;
  • My writings, including academic articles, book projects, and popular essays and reviews; and
  • My teaching in various areas of philosophy.
  • Plus there is also a very cursory biography.
